(WOODHULL,NY)- The racing action kicks off again this Saturday, May 25 at ‘New York’s Toughest Bullring’ as we remember George Williams. Griffith Energy and Elkland Moose team up to present this week’s action.

George Williams is well known around Woodhull as he made the track and kicked racing off here at the highbanks. Many people call him a jack-of-all-trades because he did everything! Everything, including running a dance hall! It wasn’t until 1963 Williams found himself at a racetrack but fell in love with it much like the rest of us drivers and fans.

The entire staff, fans, and competitors will pay tribute to the ‘Founding Father of Woodhull Raceway’ this Saturday night with the running of the annual George Williams Memorial races.

Griffith Energy and Elkland Moose are presenting the action this weekend.Griffith Energy has 14 locations across three states and can help you with propane or other energy services you may need for your home. Elkland Moose lodge is located in Elkland, Pennsylvania and helps the community with various needs.

The Insinger Performance Modifieds will go an extra ten laps this weekend in honor of Williams. $2,000-to-win is also on the line for the Insinger Performance Modifieds. Also on the card Saturday is NAPA Crate Sportsman, Cummings Trucking Crate Late Models, Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Street Stocks, Daugherty Auto Sales & Service Mini Stocks and Warriors, Woodhull Auto Supply Hobby Stocks, and Johnson’s Auto Supply FWD.

Before the racing action kick’s off at 6:30pm fans are invited to come out back the grandstands and meet the female drivers of the ‘high banks’. Kids can also enjoy an ice cream social while they meet their favorite female driver. Stop by the Jr. Fan booth and grab a autograph book! Also starting this weekend will start our Lil Miss/Mister Woodhull contest! Kids are encouraged to make a poster which will be voted by donating non perishable food items.

Fans can find their way into the grandstands Saturday at 4:30 for only $13 for adults 13 and up. Seniors and ages 8-12 will be $7. Children 7 and under are always free at Woodhull Raceway. Pit passes have been set at $30.

Our weekly Early Bird Special runs from 4:30-5:30 and offers $1 off general admission. Woodhull Raceway offers plenty of space for free camping on site. The green flag for the first set of heat races will be dropped by Tony Van Pelt at 6:30.
