(SAYRE, P.A.) – During the 2018 Swarthout Recycling Woodhull Raceway car show, a supply drive was held to collect needed items for the Sayre House of Hope located in Sayre, PA.

The supply drive helped collect needed supplies to help the House of Hope serve families at little or no cost, who seek care or have loved ones seeking care at the Guthrie Clinic located one street away in Sayre.

In 2017 alone, 75% of the House of Hope guests stayed at little or no cost to them. Plus, of that 75%, 3/4 of that group qualified to stay at zero cost to them. Donations and programs similar to this 'Supply Drive' make that a possibility.

"The Sayre House of Hope provides affordable temporary housing for families dealing with inpatient, outpatient and emergency care," said Resident Manager Elizabeth Hibbard.

“Sayre House of Hope is a ‘home away from home’ for patients and their families. It is thanks to the generous support and donations of Woodhull Raceway's community that Sayre House of Hope has been able to keep its doors open for over eleven years now. We are proud to provide this important service and look forward to continuing our service to families enduring medical crisis for years to come.”

The House of Hope has served thousands of families in their time of need and have served families from all 50 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Canada and several other countries across the globe.

"The Guthrie Clinic is the closest trauma center to Woodhull Raceway and at a moment's notice, one of our race teams and families could find themselves in a tough situation and need to draw on this great resource at the House of Hope," said Woodhull Raceway Media Director Steven Ovens.

In all, over $100 worth of supplies were donated during the car show weekend on March 17 and 18. Some donated supplies, while others made monetary donations that helped purchase what supplies were not donated. Raceway officials toured the House of Hope last week to see the comforting environment that welcomes families in their time of need.

"Woodhull is proud to have partnerships with local charities like the Woodhull Food Pantry, the Jake Davis Memorial Fund and now the Sayre House of Hope. Ted and Brandi want to thank everyone that helped us make a great donation to this local organization."
