(BIG FLATS, NY) – Woodhull Raceway kicks off their 2018 season with their annual Swarthout Recycling Arnot Mall Car Show in Big Flats this weekend. While fans will have the opportunity to see all the new race cars for the upcoming season, they will also be able to assist Woodhull Raceway in giving back to a local charity.

The track is proud to announce that they have teamed up with the Sayre, PA House of Hope to run a 'Supply Drive' on Saturday and Sunday of the car show. The supply drive will help collect needed supplies to help the House of Hope serve families at little or no cost, who seek care or have loved ones seeking care at the Guthrie Clinic also located in Sayre.

Items for donation include:

  • Nonperishable food items, especially easy to fix food like soup

  • Snack foods like granola bars, fruit cups, single serving bags of pretzels or chips

  • Bottled Water

  • Dishwasher Detergent only (please no dish soap)

  • Toilet paper

  • Facial tissues (regular or pocket-size tissue packs)

  • Bleach

  • Perfume & Dye free Liquid Laundry Detergent & Dryer Sheets

  • Toiletries (i.e. toothpaste, dental floss, combs, razors are currently low in supply)

"The Sayre House of Hope provides affordable temporary housing for families dealing with inpatient, outpatient and emergency care," said Resident Manager Elizabeth Hibbard.

“Sayre House of Hope is a ‘home away from home’ for patients and their families. It is thanks to the generous support and donations of people and organizations in the community that Sayre House of Hope has been able to keep its doors open for over eleven years now. We are proud to provide this important service and look forward to continuing our service to families enduring medical crisis for years to come.”

"The Guthrie Clinic is the closest trauma center to Woodhull Raceway and at a moment's notice, one of our race teams and families could find themselves in a tough situation and need to draw on this great resource at the House of Hope," said Woodhull Raceway Media Director Steven Ovens.

"Woodhull is proud to have partnerships with local charities like the Woodhull Food Pantry, the Jake Davis Memorial Fund and now the Sayre House of Hope. We encourage anyone who is able to help us make a great donation this weekend."

Race vehicles will be moved into the mall on Friday evening, with a driver’s meeting to precede the move-in at 8:30 in center court. The car show runs during normal mall hours on Saturday and Sunday as the official kickoff to the 2018 season at “New York’s Toughest Bullring.”
