(WOODHULL) – Tonight’s racing for Saturday May 21st has been cancelled due to afternoon rain that has moved into the Southern Tier during the afternoon hours leading up to race time. Woodhull Raceway will run our 35-lap $2,000-to-win Modified special next Saturday night May 28th.
“After starting the season with four-in-a-row, Mother Nature is just not taking too kind to us here,” said Woodhull owner and promoter Ted White. “We feel like we are losing a fighting battle tonight. I’m standing at the track and we just went through some downpours that would make it nearly impossible to race.”
Coming up next Saturday night at Woodhull Raceway, the annual George Williams Memorial Races will take the green flag on what is also Fire & EMS Night. Brico Technologies, Griffith Energy and Elkland Moose will present the action where the Insinger Performance 370 Modifieds will race thirty-five laps for a top prize of $2,000.
Local Fire and EMS responders are encouraged to take in the action on Memorial Day Weekend as they will be admitted to the grandstands free of charge with proper identification.
Fans can find their way into the grandstands next Saturday at 4:30 for only $13. Our weekly Early Bird Special runs from 4:30pm-5:30pm and offers $1 off general admission. The green flag for the first set of heat races will be dropped by Scott Lyon at 6:30pm.
