Woodhull Loses 2021 Season Opener To Mother Nature

Story By: Kenny Shupp Jr

Woodhull, NY - Fans of the Woodhull Raceway will have to wait one more week for the season opener as wet grounds and cold temperatures squashed the April 17 event.

“We had a lot of rain and some wet snow at the track on Friday, stated Woodhull Raceway owners Niki and Terry Brewer. That coupled with cold temperatures and little drying conditions left us with no choice but to pull the plug on the lid lifter. Up till this past week we have had some really good weather, but the late week rain and snow showers left the grounds well saturated. We will try it again next week.”

The Cummings Trucking Rush Crate Late Model $1,000 to win 30 lap event that was already scheduled for the 17th will be rolled over to next Saturday, April 24, 2021.

The Late Models will be joined by the Mighty Insinger Performance Modifieds along with the NAPA 602 Crate Sportsman. Also, on the card it will be the Woodhull Auto Supply Hobby Stocks, the Joe Willcox Performance Street Stocks along with the Big Jim’s Wicked Tee’s 4 Cylinder Mini Stocks. The Johnson Auto Supply Front Wheel Drives and the Big Jim’s Wicked Tee’s Youth Warrior Divisions round out the Great 8 Show.

Gates for the April 24 event open at 4:30 with hot laps at 5:30. The first green flag flies at 6:30 PM.

The night of action will be sponsored by White’s Repair Service and Towing of Westfield, Pa.
