ALFRED STATE COLLEGE ASSOCIATED WITH ALFRED STATE MOTORSPORTS TECHNOLOGY ALONG WITH WHITE’S REPAIR SERVICE AND TOWING AND REAPER FORESTRY MULCHING PRESENTS SEASON OPENER FOR THE INSINGER PERFORMANCE MODIFIEDS AT THE WOODHULL RACEWAY.

Story by Kenny Shupp JR.

(Woodhull, NY) The Insinger Performance sponsored Modified Division at the Woodhull Raceway will kick off their 2023 season with a $2,100 to win lid lifter on Saturday, April 29.

After giving way to all the other classes of competition that had their opener the week prior on April 22, the Mighty Modifieds begin their “23” points paying season which will find Joe Dgien back to defend his 2022 title.

However, the Addison, NY speedster will have his work cut out as a host of others will be looking to dethrone Dgien who picked up his first ever track title after some eighteen years of race competition.

“I know it will be tough to defend as there are a whole bunch of good cars in this class including my cousin Jake Dgien who I had to fight off last year to claim the championship. We have the same DKM car with a fresh Campbell power plant so we will be in good shape this year. We finished off 2022 very strongly and we had a good test and tune so we should be in good shape.” That according to Joe Dgien.

Also, on the Great 8 Show it will be as complete show of the NAPA Crate Sportsman, the Doug Gross Construction RUSH Crate Late Models as well as the Southern Tier Customs Street Stocks.

In addition, the KMD Hobby Stocks as well as the Wicked Tee’s sponsored Mini, FWD and Warrior Classes will be on the card.

Gates for the April 29, 2023 event open at 4:30 with hot laps at 5:30 and green flag racing at 6:30 pm sharp.
