(Woodhull, NY) A pair of marketing partners in Close Racing Supply as well as Johnny and June’s will join forces to present a Great 8 Show on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the popular Steuben County oval.

Alfred State College will also return to make it a trio of partners for the May 6 event. Alfred State will be back after two consecutive weeks or rained out events.

Track owners, Terry and Nikki Brewer will open the Merry, Merry Month of May with a $1,200 to win, 30 lap Doug Gross Construction RUSH Crate Late Model Special event where many of the top RUSH Late Model drivers in the region will converge on Woodhull to see who can tackle and win on the high banked one-third of a mile clay oval.

“The Doug Gross Construction RUSH Late Models always put on a great show. They bring a healthy car count to the track every week and the drivers put on an impressive show for the fans. We are thrilled to put some extra money out there for the winner of this event.” That according to Woodhull owners, Terry and Niki Brewer.

Also, on the Great 8 card of events it will be the Insinger Performance Modifieds, NAPA Crate Sportsman, Southern Tier Customs Street Stocks as well as the Wicked Tee’s sponsored Mini’s FWD and Warriors.

The KMD Excavating Hobby Stocks complete the night of great action.

It is uncertain at this time if the washed-out April 29 Insinger Modified $2,100 to win feature will be made up.

Gates for the May 6, 2023 event open at 4:30 pm with hot laps at 5:30 pm. The first green flag of the night waves promptly at 6:30 pm.

Close Racing of Eldred, Pa. has been a staunch supporter of the Woodhull Raceway for years and traditionally their company name is attached to the RUSH Crate LM, 30 lap, $1,200 to win special and 2023 will be no different as Close Racing will be there taking care of business in a class they are very familiar with as being this region’s largest supplier of chassis, bodies and bolt on components for most of the top Late Model teams.

Most Crate Late Model as well as Street Stock and IMCA Modified teams depend on the many years of experience and knowledge that Close Racing Supply has to offer. Brothers Brian and Jason Knowles of Doug Gross Construction who sponsor the division at Woodhull are standout CLM competitors and over the years they have relied heavily on the expertise that is available at Close Racing.
