(WOODHULL, NY) – This year will be another year for the street stock challenge series. Following the same layout as last year, 2019 will bring an exciting season for the street stocks.

The series will feature a three-race challenge format, with drivers earning points toward the challenge series championship that will pay a point fund to the top 10 in points. The three challenge races will take place on Saturday April 20, Tuesday August 13 and wrapping up with the ‘Woodhull 100’ on Saturday September 28.

The Challenge Series point fund has not been determined yet but will be posted in the next few weeks. Also included in the Challenge Series program will be contingency awards courtesy of Sunoco Race Fuels, American Racer Tire and great support from Woodhull’s Street Stock division sponsor- Joe Willcox Performance Automatics.

September’s running of the ‘Woodhull 100’ also carries a lap sponsor program that has generated $4,000-$5,000 in additional incentive dollars and prizes to be distributed annually at that event.

The Challenge Series opener will fall on the first scheduled race of 2019 at Woodhull on April 20. The 25-lap race will pay $500-to-win and will carry an overall purse well over $2,000.

Race number two will not come until Tuesday August 13 when Brett and Heather Deyo’s Short Track Super Series comes to town. Street Stocks are on the slate to race for the three-card-division night and will tout a $500-to-win race that will be 25 laps in length.

The third and final race will come on September 28 during the grueling ‘Woodhull 100.’ A 100-lap event paying a cool $1,000-to-win. Kurt Stebbins checked off a huge win in 2018- his second career victory in the Woodhull 100 for the Street Stocks. With over $11,000 in purse money and contingency money and prizes, the ‘Woodhull 100’ will not disappoint in 2019.

The Challenge Series points will follow Woodhull’s weekly points system. Heats pay out 3 points to the winner, 2 points for second and 1 point for third place. Features pay 30 points to the winner, 25 points for second, 24 points for third and a one point gap for each position on back through the field.
