(WOODHULL) – One of the great nights to honor our past falls on this weekend, as Saturday night Swarthout Recycling will present the Legends of Woodhull Reunion. Many of the stars who drove the cars in Woodhull’s past will converge on ‘New York’s Toughest Bullring to share stories, bench race and maybe even tell a few stories that stretch the truth…just a little!
It’s a great night to celebrate the past, while taking in the great action on the track in the present. Morgan Colegrove looks forward to this night each year, and will share his knowledge on Woodhull’s history and interview those can relive their laps around the Steuben County oval.
This week will also see the Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Street Stocks compete in their fourth and final Clash for Cash of the season. Randomly selected drivers will be drawn from each heat race to set the field, for this winner-take-all 10-lap dash.
Small, but powerful. A sight to be seen on ‘New York’s Toughest Bullring.’ The 270 Micro Sprints invade Woodhull Raceway on Saturday night, part of their makeup feature that was rained out on August 13th as well as a full show that has been added to this week’s racing card.
A generous purse and countless numbers of contingencies will be on the line for the 270 micro contingent, including additives to the overall purse and several product gift certificates being up for grabs. As fellow open wheel racers, the 270 micros will also pay tribute to fallen open wheel icon Bryan Clauson with special tribute stickers.
Swarthout Recycling has a longstanding partnership with Woodhull Raceway and will present this week’s racing card. They also sponsor our yearly car show display at the Arnot Mall to kick off the yearly schedule.
Swarthout Recycling is a well-known supporter of local motorsports located in Beaver Dams, NY. They specialize in scrap metals including mixed steel, aluminum, copper, brass and cast iron. The recycling department accepts cardboard, newspaper, mixed office paper and junk mail, clear and green glass, tin and plastic. Swarthout is also a race fan’s go-to source for household and commercial refuse. Their large fleet of trucks and equipment has one of the area's largest assortments of roll-off canisters in various sizes. They can also provide front-loading trash dumpsters in 2, 4, 6, and 8 cubic yard sizes for commercial refuse. As if those services weren't enough, Swarthout Recycling also can provide demolition, long haul trucking and a state-of-the-art mobile document destruction vehicle for safe and secure shredding of delicate records and documents.
All of Woodhull Raceway’s racing divisions will be on hand including the Insinger Performance 370 Modifieds, NAPA Crate Sportsman, SWL 360 Late Models, Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Street Stocks, Daugherty Auto Sales Mini Stocks, Woodhull Auto Supply Front Wheel Drives and Daugherty Auto Sales Warriors.
Fans can find their way into the grandstands Saturday at 4:30 for only $11 for adults 13 and up. Seniors and ages 8-12 will be $6. Children 7 and under are always free at Woodhull Raceway. Free camping is offered on the speedway grounds for those wishing to make it a weekend of family, friends and dirt track racing.
