(WOODHULL) – Who will be the Crate Sportsman King of the Ring?
That question will be answered on Saturday night as Whites Repair presents the racing action on the High Banks. NAPA Auto Parts, the Crate Sportsman division sponsor, will also present the annual King of the Ring event for the Crate drivers.
The King of the Ring is a ‘knockout style’ single elimination match race that sees drivers compete in two lap match races. The winner of each match race moves on to the next round, while the second place car heads back to the trailer to make final adjustments for that night’s A-Main.
Chris Daugherty picked up a big victory on Saturday night, extending his point lead to a full race worth of points and will be a big favorite going into this special event. But being fast in the feature and even being a top points finisher doesn’t always guarantee success in the King of the Ring event. The short two-lap format lends itself to opening up the field to a surprise winner.
All of Woodhull Raceway’s racing divisions will be on hand except the Warriors, including the Insinger Performance 370 Modifieds, NAPA Crate Sportsman, SWL 360 Late Models, Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Street Stocks, Daugherty Auto Sales Mini Stocks and Woodhull Auto Supply Front Wheel Drives.
Fans can find their way into the grandstands Saturday at 4:30 for only $12 for adults 13 and up. Seniors and ages 8-12 will be $6. Children 7 and under are always free at Woodhull Raceway. Free camping is offered on the speedway grounds for those wishing to make it a weekend of family, friends and dirt track racing.

Woodhull Racewat can be found in Woodhull, NY, just 30 minutes West of Corning, NY, competing
