Woodhull, NY - Close Racing Supply of Eldred, Pa. will proudly be the nightly sponsor as Woodhull Raceway will open for the first official event of the 2021 season on Saturday, April 17.
Second year owners and promoters, Nikki and Terry Brewer along with all their staff can’t wait to swing open the gates for the season lid lifter and it cannot come soon enough. After a rough 2020 season that saw an abbreviated schedule due to Covid 19, race teams are more than eager to return to their favorite Saturday night race place.
The Cummings Trucking RUSH Late Models will come right of the gate swinging with a special 30 lap A Main event where the winner will walk away with a nice $1,000 check. Many of the region’s top Crate Late Model pilots will converge on the high banks of the Woodhull Raceway all looking for their first feature win of 2021. Names like Waters, LeBarron, the Knowles Boys, Horton, Layfield, McGregor and Stebbins all have plenty of laps at Woodhull and it promises to be a slug fest.
Also seeing regular action on Close Racing Supply Night will be the NAPA Crate Sportsman, The Joe Willcox Performance Street Stocks along with the Woodhull Auto Supply Hobby Stocks. Rounding out the card will be the Big Jim’s Wicked Tee’s 4 Cylinder Mini Stocks, the Johnson Auto Supply FWD as well as the Big Jim’s Wicked Tee’s Youth Warrior Divisions with all purse structures available on the track’s web site.
The Insinger Performance Modifieds have the night off and will see their season opener the following Saturday, April 24.
Pit gates for the April 17 event open at 4:30 with hot laps at 5:30. The first green flag of the night will fly at 6:30 pm.
Due to the everchanging NYS Governor and Health Department guidelines for outside gatherings, it remains unclear whether fans will we allowed into the grandstand seating area. As the day of the event draws closer all interested parties should refer to www.facebook.com/WoodhullRaceway for continual updates leading up to the season opener.
