Close Racing Supply Returns To Sponsor July 16th Event After April Rain Out

(Woodhull, NY) After an earlier season cancellation due to wet grounds on April 16, Close Racing Supply of Eldred, Pa will return to the Woodhull Raceway on Saturday, July 16 as they will join forces with the New York State Stock Car Association to present a Great 8 Show.


Joel Smith along with founder Bob Close, of Close Racing Supply, have built a solid business over the past two decades primarily specializing in Late Model, Crate Late Model, Street Stock and IMCA style chassis. In addition, Close Racing Supply is the racers choice for bolt on components, racing tires and high-octane racing fuel.

Close will join the NYSSCA to present the night of competition which includes all of Woodhull’s regular weekly divisions including the Insinger Performance Modifieds, the NAPA Crate Sportsman, the Armstrong RUSH Crate Late Models along with the Hobby Stocks. Also, on the card it will be the Wicked Tee’s sponsored Mini Stocks and Warriors along with the Front Wheel Drive Classes. The Joe Willcox Performance Street Stocks will round out the Great 8 Attraction as they will not only run their regular twenty lap feature event, but it will also be their King of the Ring one on one elimination night for the popular Street Stock Division.


Gates for the July 16 show will find Pit entry beginning at 3:30 pm with the Main Grandstand seating area to follow at 4:30 pm. The first green flag of the night will wave at 6:30 pm.


Looking ahead, race fans and drivers are already making their plans for the upcoming August 6 event featuring a $5,500 to win, $400 to start Insinger Performance Modified 50 lap special. The Honoring Alice Williams Event will feature the regions top Modified competitors all vying for the top price. With a larger than normal Modified turnout, all Woodhull Modified track regular’s that compete will receive show up points on the night as the drawer-draw will be in effect for the special show. Numerous drivers from several Upstate New York and Northern Pa face facilities have already expressed interest in the August 6 Modified Special.


In addition to the Modified Special on August 6, all of Woodhull’s regular weekly classes will be in competition.
