(WOODHULL, NY) – After local flooding and damage that occurred on September 21 in the areas near Woodhull Raceway, owners and promoters Ted and Brandi White cancelled last weekend’s Full Fendered Frenzy Night.

With that event being cancelled, several changes have been made to this coming weekend’s schedule for the 9th Annual Bullring Challenge Weekend. Changes have been made to blend events from Full Fendered Frenzy Night, as well as not compete with events taking place at McKean County Family Raceway the same weekend.

Changes are as follows:

  • Friday’s Crate Sportsman race is now a full blown Grit Racing Series event- 30 Laps, $800-to-win and $100-to-start and will pay out a guaranteed starting spot in Saturday’s 30-Lap Grit Series event

  • Crate Late Models have been dropped from the Friday September 28 racing card

  • Hobby Stocks have been added to the Friday September 28 racing card, purse to be announced this week

  • Mini Stocks will race their Open Rules package on both Friday & Saturday night

  • Open Street Stocks (rules posted online) will compete in the ‘Night Before the 100’ Friday September 28- Race 2 of the Woodhull Raceway Street Stock Challenge Series

Costy Energy Services & Schweigart’s Sugar Shack will present the action for Bullring Challenge Weekend. Saturday night includes the 40-lap, $3,000-to-win Bullring Challenge for the Big Block/Small Block Modifieds. The Grit Racing Series Crate Sportsman will be in action along with the Street Stocks, Open Mini Stocks and Front Wheel Drive Challenge Series.

Friday night racing includes the Grit Racing Series Crate Sportsman, Open Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Open Mini Stocks and Front Wheel Drive Challenge Series utilizing SCDRA rules.

The Woodhull 100 is a 100-lap event paying a cool $1,000-to-win and $100 just to take the green flag. Glenn Whritenour used patience to win the 2017 running of the 100, sending Kurt Stebbins home disappointed after Stebbins led 92 of the 100 scheduled laps. With over $11,000 in purse money and contingency money and prizes, the ‘Woodhull 100’ will not disappoint in 2018.

Rules for Woodhull's Street Stock Challenge Series and the Woodhull 100 will follow Woodhull’s Open Street Stock rules which are as follows:

Any steel small block engine

Must run (1) two barrel carburetor

10 inch maximum width on any tire

No 3-Link or Late Model type chassis. Must have stock Front Clip. Clip cars MUST be 2" x 3" Steel tubing from 36" behind centerline of front wheels to centerline of rear axle and must go over rear axle.

No weight rule

Joe Willcox Performance Automatics, located in the Gaines/Westfield, PA area, will also be on hand to present the action and welcome all Street Stock competitors. Also supporting Woodhull Raceway as the Street Stock division sponsor, Street Stock King of the Ring sponsor and sponsor of the Junior Fan Program, the dynamic duo of Joe and Jean Willcox are Woodhull fixtures that give back a great deal to Southern Tier racers from their self-proclaimed 'little operation in Westfield.'
