(WOODHULL, NY) – Mother Nature just didn’t want the Patriot Sprint Tour to get their first show of the season in at Woodhull in 2018.
A threatening chance of rain moving in off Lake Erie in Buffalo during the afternoon, expecting to move in over Woodhull at race time has forced Woodhull Raceway and the Patriot Sprint Tour to cancel today’s event.
“Especially with our bigger shows like this, we’ve always stayed consistent in trying to make an early call for those that come in from outside the area,” said Ted White. “We, along with Mike and the folks from the Patriot Sprints always want to try and get a show in if we can, but today’s forecast is stacked against us and other tracks in the area.”
The first stop of 2018 for the Patriot Sprint Tour will not be made up, however officials are working on a makeup date for the Veterans and Armed Forces Night presented by Universal Plant Services.
The rainout sets up three weeks in a row of big shows planned for “New York’s Toughest Bullring.”
June 30 will be Woodhull’s annual Fireworks Spectacular presented by Instant Heat Wood Pellets. General Admission for next week’s Fireworks show has been set at $13 for adults 13 and up, $7 for Seniors and Students 8-12. Children 7 & Under as well as camping are FREE weekly at Woodhull Raceway.
July 7 will see NAPA Auto Parts present the Crate Sportsman King of the Ring, along with a driver autograph session scheduled for intermission.
The Patriot Sprint Tour will return for a regularly scheduled event on July 14, with the Hobby Stocks and Warriors taking the night off.
Race fans are encouraged to sign up for the fastest alerts from Woodhull Raceway’s Rained Out Alert system by sending the text message “WoodhullAlert” to 84483, message and data rates may apply.
