(WOODHULL) – This coming weekend at Woodhull Raceway will be an important one no doubt. Memorial Day Weekend rings in the George Williams Memorial Trophy Races, but it will also kick off the second year of a community service program started at the track that supports the Woodhull Food Pantry.

The 2nd annual ‘Lil’ Miss/Lil’ Mr. Woodhull’ contest will begin Saturday May 26. The contest, open to race fans ages 3 to 12 years old, will run from this Saturday until Saturday June 23. Race fans of all ages can cast their ‘ballots’ with non-perishable food items that will be collected at the Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Junior Fan Club Booth.

Boxes of the same size will be provided for each child, however the child and their families are encouraged to create signage with photos for fans to see when casting their ‘ballots.’ Fans are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items to cast their vote, but are asked not to donate water or beverages.

The child who collects the most amount of non-perishable items in the contest will be crowned ‘Lil’ Miss or Mr. Woodhull’ for the 2018 season. The winner will be announced on Saturday June 23 and will have their photo taken with each division winner during the July 7 racing program.

For the second season in a row, Woodhull Raceway, Joe and Jean Willcox and the Junior Fan Club will work alongside the Woodhull Food Pantry for this contest. The response was incredible in 2017, with Woodhull Raceway making a large donation of non-perishable food items to the local area food pantry.

For more information and to register your child, stop by the Junior Fan Club booth to the right of the General Admission gate on Saturday when you arrive at the races!

Also on the racing card for that night will be the Insinger Performance Modifieds, NAPA Crate Sportsman, SWL Awards Crate Late Models, Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Street Stocks, Woodhull Auto Supply Hobby Stocks, Daughtery’s Auto Sales & Service Mini Stocks, Bear's Auto Body Front Wheel Drives and Daugherty Auto Sales & Service Warriors.

Racing action returns to Woodhull Raceway Saturday night as Griffith Energy and the Elkland Moose present the annual George Williams Memorial Trophy Races. It will be a complete show with all divisions, while the Insinger Performance Modifieds will go 35 laps in distance for a cool $2,000 top prize.
