For Immediate Release – August 21st, 2017 –
(WOODHULL) – Race fans and teams will have to wait one more day to see who will take home the checkered flag in the ‘Hustlin’ The High Banks 53’ for the Short Track Super Series.
Seventy percent chance of rain and an eighty percent chance of rain Tuesday night has forced Woodhull Raceway owners and promoters Ted and Brandi White and STSS Series Director Brett Deyo to utilize the rain date of Wednesday August 23. The decision was made with the racers in mind, as so many competitors plan to travel a great distance to compete.
“When you plan out an event of this caliber, you have to be prepared to make an early decision if the weather isn’t favorable to get the entire show in,” said Ted White on Monday. “We are going to make the call early and save a lot of folks a wasted day traveling here only to get rained on. Wednesday will be a great night of action as always with Brett’s series.”
All prices and times will remain the same. The event is headlined by a 53-lap STSS Modified main paying $5,300 to win, $1,000 for 10th and $400 to take the green flag plus GRIT Racing Series Crate 602 Sportsman ($1,000 to win) and Mini-Stocks ($500 to win).
The event is Round No. 7 of the nine-race STSS Halmar North Region.
Nothing will change in terms of times or pricing, the event will just be held Wednesday instead of Tuesday. The pit area will open at 3:00 and pit passes will carry a price of $35. Final track packing will take place followed by hot laps at 6:00, with the first race firing off turn four at 7:00 sharp.
Fans can find their way into the grandstands Wednesday at 4:00 for only $20 for ages 12 and up. Seniors 62+ and Students age 7-11 will pay a reduced price of $10. Children 6 and under will be free of charge. Free camping is offered on the speedway grounds for those wishing to stay over and camp.
