(WOODHULL) – In what has been a wild season in the Woodhull Auto Supply Front Wheel Drives, just two drivers remain to determine the 2016 track champion. The points in this division are locked into a two-driver tie with both Shawn Gleason and Codie Baker being knotted up at 369 points.
Gleason has led the point race since May 7th and has collected three wins along the way, with his last win coming back on July 2nd. Baker started off the season with a win on April 23rd, but has not returned to Victory Lane since that time. But the difference has been Baker's consistency in the last nine races.
In those last nine races leading up to championship night, Baker has finished in the runner-up spot six times. Within that same stretch of races, Gleason has a win and two second place finishes. It has been a tale of two different seasons leading up to Kibbe Oil & Gas Field Service Night, but there is one race left remaining for these drivers to leave it all on the track.
The heat race will be crucial in helping determine the champion as the winner, second place and third place finishers get bonus points of 3, 2 and 1 point respectively. When it comes time for the feature, there is a 5-point gap from the winner to second place. The championship will likely come down to who finished ahead of who when the checkered flag falls.
