(WOODHULL) – A season’s worth of work, blood, sweat and tears culminates on Saturday night at “New York’s Toughest Bullring” as Kibbe Oil & Gas Field Service presents Championship Night on the High Banks.
Three division champions have been decided, but four champions remain to be crowned on Saturday. The Insinger Performance 370 Modified championship has been secured by Billy Van Pelt out of Westfield, PA. Meanwhile, Chris Daugherty (NAPA Crate Sportsman) and Bruce Miller (SWL Awards 360 Late Models) also have wrapped up their 2016 titles.
But yet to be determined are championships for the Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Street Stocks, Daugherty Auto Sales Mini Stocks, Woodhull Auto Supply Front Wheel Drives and Daugherty Auto Sales Warriors.
Kurt Stebbins takes a comfortable lead into championship night, but will need a solid run in his heat and avoid disaster in the feature to lock up the title for the street stocks. Ron Dailey Jr. leads Chris Woodard by a mere four points going into this week, but not even that is the closest point race going into Saturday.
Shawn Gleason and Codie Baker are tied for the Front Wheel Drive point lead. Gleason has led the points most of the season, but Baker has turned it on over the last month to pull back into a tie for the lead. Ajay Potrzebowski Jr. needs only to take the green flag on Saturday night to lock up his first career Warriors title with a nineteen point lead over Cole Youse.
All of Woodhull Raceway’s racing divisions will be on hand including the Insinger Performance 370 Modifieds, NAPA Crate Sportsman, SWL 360 Late Models, Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Street Stocks, Daugherty Auto Sales Mini Stocks, Woodhull Auto Supply Front Wheel Drives and Daugherty Auto Sales Warriors.
Fans can find their way into the grandstands Saturday at 4:30 for only $11 for adults 13 and up. Seniors and ages 8-12 will be $6. Children 7 and under are always free at Woodhull Raceway. Free camping is offered on the speedway grounds for those wishing to make it a weekend of family, friends and dirt track racing.
