(WOODHULL) – Grab those ugly Christmas sweaters and your favorite santa hat and make your way to Woodhull Raceway on Saturday night as Kibbe Concrete presents ‘Christmas in July’ on the High Banks.
There will be bicycle giveaways on Saturday night to go along with an ugly Christmas sweater contest with prizes for the top three as voted on by the fans. NYSSCA Award Night also falls on Saturday with a special program in place for NYSSCA Award Night.
Special bonuses will be on the line for the first two across the start/finish line that are NYSSCA members in each division. NYSSCA is the acronym for the New York State Stock Car Association. Once started as a collection of drivers looking to have a voice, NYSSCA has developed into an organization that supports drivers and provides a support system for injured drivers.
Woodhull Raceway is proud to be in association with NYSSCA, as several Woodhull Raceway drivers are awarded each year at the annual NYSSCA banquet. Several NYSSCA associates are on hand at Woodhull on a weekly basis and work with the drivers as active members of the pit area.
Also on tap Saturday is a special event for the Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Street Stocks as they will compete in a fifty-lap event paying $750 to the winner. It is a great tune up for the annual Woodhull 100 coming up in September. The winner will also earn a spot in the September 24th Fight Night Street Stock Series Woodhull 100.
It’s also another opportunity to watch what has become an exciting point race in the division. The top four drivers are within three points of each other going into Saturday night’s event. Kurt Stebbins and Glenn Whritenour are locked in a tie for the points lead, while Dylan Cecce is just one point back and Teddy Morseman three points back. Who will claim Street Stock supremacy on Saturday and walk away with the point lead? You’ll have to come see for yourself on Saturday night in Woodhull!
All of Woodhull Raceway’s racing divisions will be on hand including the Insinger Performance 370 Modifieds, NAPA Crate Sportsman, SWL 360 Late Models, Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Street Stocks, Daugherty Auto Sales Mini Stocks, Woodhull Auto Supply Front Wheel Drives and Daugherty Auto Sales Warriors.
Fans can find their way into the grandstands Saturday at 4:30 for only $11 for adults 13 and up. Seniors and ages 8-12 will be $6. Children 7 and under are always free at Woodhull Raceway. Free camping is offered on the speedway grounds for those wishing to make it a weekend of family, friends and dirt track racing.
