(WOODHULL) – Tonight’s racing for Saturday May 14th has been cancelled due to rain, wind and colder temperatures moving into the Southern Tier during the afternoon hours leading up to race time. Woodhull Raceway and the Patriot Sprint Tour have rescheduled their first of two stops to “New York’s Toughest Bullring for Saturday June 11th, 2016.
“We hate to drop a show due to weather when Mike’s group with the Patriots come in, but the weather here at the track is going to be iffy at best,” said Woodhull owner and promoter Ted White. “We’re already getting rain, the wind is blowing at 20mph and the temperatures are going to dip down into the upper 40’s and higher 30’s after the rain.”
Although tonight’s action has been cancelled, this is amazingly the first rainout of 2016 for Woodhull Raceway. After weather affected so many shows in 2015, Mother Nature has been kind to the Steuben County oval up until tonight.
Outman Equipment and Kim’s Old Country Store will join the Colonial Hotel as sponsors of the racing action on June 11th. Stay tuned to the Woodhull Raceway website and social media accounts for any further schedule updates to that night’s program.
Coming up next Saturday night at Woodhull Raceway, the annual George Williams Memorial will take the green flag, as the Insinger Performance 370 Modifieds will race thirty-five laps for a top prize of $2,000. Griffith Energy and the Elkland Moose will be on hand to sponsor the night’s racing activities.
Fans can find their way into the grandstands next Saturday at 4:30 for only $13. Our weekly Early Bird Special runs from 4:30pm-5:30pm and offers $1 off general admission. The green flag for the first set of heat races will be dropped by Scott Lyon at 6:30pm.
