(HORSEHEADS, N.Y.) - This past weekend, Woodhull Raceway held a very successful car show at the Arnot Mall in Horseheads, NY sponsored by Swarthout Recycling. The Arnot Mall provided the raceway with 44 spots for cars to be displayed, with Woodhull owners and promoters Ted and Brandi White filling each and every spot.

Move in night took place on Friday night and was a smooth process to get all cars in place thanks to the security staff at the Arnot Mall. This set the stage for a weekend of new paint schemes and bench racing that would take place on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday kicked off day number one of the 2016 mall show and near-record numbers of race fans, fellow competitors and media personnel filed through the halls of the Horseheads, NY mall.

“We are really pleased with the number of people that made their way to the mall this weekend,” said White. “I think we saw more people this weekend than we have seen at the show in several years.”

With multiple cars on display from each of Woodhull’s weekly divisions of 370 Modifieds, Crate Sportsman, 360 Late Models, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, Front Wheel Drives and Woodhull Warriors- there was plenty to take in. There were even entries from traveling series that make annual stops at “New York’s Toughest Bullring” including the Patriot Sprint Tour, 270cc Micro Sprint Tour, RUSH Dirt Late Model Series and an entry from Chemung Speedrome by Tim Gullo.

Saturday night was a highlight of the show as the Team Pit Stop Competition returned to the mall show festivities for 2016. Teams and fans circled around Center Court and lined the second floor Food Court to look down on the action. In keeping with a family tradition, the Morseman family team made up of 370 Modified driver Russell and Street Stock competitors Teddy and Branden took home first place with a sub-30 second tire change of Billy Van Pelt’s 370 Modified.

A team led by Street Stock driver Brett Marlatt finished in second place. Another team with 370 Modified driver Dillon Groover and Crate Sportsman driver Jake Dgien brought home a third place finish. The Seeley racing team led by 360 Late Model driver Mickey Seeley was honored with the “Best Dressed Team” award.
