(WOODHULL, N.Y.) - The racing community is in full-on car show mode for the upcoming 2016 racing season. Drivers from all walks of racing are hard at work preparing their mounts for battle, some readying their machines for the March 19th and 20th Arnot Mall Car Show presented by Swarthout Recycling.
The Woodhull Raceway community is set to take on the halls of the Arnot Mall on Friday March 18th for move in night when the mall closes for business. Woodhull staff will man the raceway booth in Center Court all weekend long to answer questions, take season pass orders and talk about the exciting events on tap for 2016. The car show will run Saturday and Sunday during normal mall hours- Saturday 10AM-9:30PM and Sunday 11AM-6PM.
Racers from the Insinger Performance 370 Modifieds, NAPA Crate Sportsman, S&W Awards 360 Late Models, Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Street Stocks, Daugherty Auto Sales Mini Stocks, Woodhull Auto Supply Front Wheel Drives, Daugherty Auto Sales Woodhull Warriors and Kyle Drum's No. 47 mount for the Patriot Sprint Tour are all signed up for this year's show so far.
There have been requests from racers outside of Woodhull Raceway, which will be reviewed once all Woodhull weekly competitors have the opportunity to sign up. Any Woodhull weekly competitor that has yet to sign up is highly encouraged to do so by this Friday's deadline by visiting www.woodhullraceway.com and clicking on the "Car Show 2016" link.
The boys from Turn 5 Live on the Performance Motorsports Network will once again have a presence at the mall show, recording a 2 hour Mall Show special for their Tuesday March 22nd episode which will air at 7:30PM on www.performancemotorsportsnetwork.com. They will record their show from approximately 3PM-6PM leading up to the return of the Team Pit Stop Competition at 6:30PM. With the popularity of the 2015 Woodhull Banquet show, drivers are encouraged to stop by Center Court to brag on their new rides and crews/sponsors that help them field their teams.
The pit stop competition, which will award the three fastest teams and the best dressed team, will be made up of three crew members each (tire changer, tire carrier and jack man). The crew will change a right rear tire in the fastest time possible with 5 second penalties being assessed for any loose lug nuts. There is no cost to enter a team for the pit stop competition and the event will kick off at 6:30PM!
