(WOODHULL, NY) – Carter Crooker is carrying on an old family tradition at Woodhull Raceway. The up and coming Mini Stock star competed in his second season of competition of racing at “New York’s Toughest Bullring” in 2018.
Crooker’s team, touting a brand new piece, sporting the family’s famed No. 32 was initially designed to be a one trick pony for last season. But a last minute deal between the team and two-time and defending Mini Stock track champion Chris Woodard, made Team 32 a one-two punch for the ages at Ted & Brandi White’s Woodhull Raceway.
Crooker made quick work of letting the competition know he was here to win and win often- winning the first two point races of the season back on April 28 and May 5. Ronnie Dailey would go on to claim his first of two victories on the season the following week, stoking a fire within Crooker that helped him secure the 2018 title.
Crooker would go on to win five-straight races in the Daugherty’s Auto Sales & Service Warriors. He was the only driver to win a Warriors race in the months of June and July. Dailey and another up and comer Brody Amidon would go on to take wins on August 4 and August 11.
But Crooker would go on to close out his championship run by winning the last three points races of the 2018 season. The Dependable Disposal No. 32 was dependable a lot more than it wasn’t, but not even some late season engine failures could keep Crooker and Woodard from sweeping the Mini Stock and Warriors track titles.
Crooker took it one step further by capturing his first Mini Stock victory in a Fall race at Woodhull, as he prepares to race in the Mini Stock division with the snarly veterans of that primarily adult division.
At the annual Woodhull Raceway awards banquet in December, Crooker collected his spoils of victory and thanked his supporters for a record-setting season. Fans of Woodhull will want to keep their eye on this young man for the foreseeable future on the High Banks.
The annual Woodhull Raceway Arnot Mall Car Show in Horseheads, NY is planned for St. Patrick's Day weekend, March 15th, 16th and 17th.
